It%26#039;s getting close to my next round of exams again and I need a boost. I don%26#039;t want to get involved in prescription amphetamines, and energy drinks tend to just give me excess energy and a counterproductive inability to focus. I%26#039;ve heard good things of ginkgo biloba extracts. I%26#039;ve heard %26#039;ginkgold%26#039; is quite good. Any input is appreciated. My spending limit is about $50 and I%26#039;d prefer purchasing it online.
What%26#039;s the best non-prescription supplement to improve memory and focus?
i use siberian ginseng and ginko biloba. both are available at your local grocery store and about 10 bucks a bottle. my cousins%26#039; wife has been studying alternative medicine for about 4 years now so i called and she recommended those two.
ginseng has a calming effect for me and that is very important when going into an exam. if you%26#039;re looking for a natural energy boost try bee pollen. it%26#039;s inexpensive as well.
i went back to school at 35 and the anxiety of learning to learn again was almost overwhelming and those basic supplements really made a noticeable difference. i%26#039;m not sure how much was just in my mind but whatever works works.
a 2 month supply will come in far under your budget.
good luck with your exams!
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t rely on supplements only. There are several other things you can do to improve your memory.
If you want to improve your ability to memorize, then learn the memory systems. These include the peg, link, loci, and other methods, and they are not hard to learn. Just the other day, I taught my first-grader how to memorize a page of Spanish vocabulary using the %26quot;keyword%26quot; visualization method.
A easy-to-read book that explains the memory systems and gives lots of examples is %26quot;The Memory Book%26quot; by Harry Lorayne. For students like you, his other book, %26quot;Super Memory, Super Student%26quot; may even be better, since it explains how the memory systems can be used to memorize course work like chemistry, math, and so on.
To improve your memory generally, you will probably need to make some lifestyle changes. There has been a lot of research lately about memory. This research shows that exercising daily, improving your sleep, eating brain foods and taking brain vitamins, and meditating can all improve memory. You can also play brain games like sudoku, crossword puzzles, and chess to help keep your mind sharp.
If you have trouble concentrating, start taking fish oil vitamins. A lot of people are deficient in the Omega-3 nutrients found in fish oil. These nutrients are required for brain health but are often missing from today%26#039;s diets. I take 1 to 2 teaspoons a day of the liquid fish oil (Carlson%26#039;s brand).
You can do all this for almost no money. The two books I mentioned are only about $10 each. Vitamins and brain foods are fairly cheap, and the other lifestyle changes are free. And you can easily find free brain games on the Internet.

Reply:First, to improve memory, the important factor is blood circulation of the brain with sufficient oxygen supply and other essential nutrients.
Several memory enhancing herbs are available in the market. But, the only herb that inhales oxygen while growing are the Red Mushrooms (also known as Ganoderma, Lingzhi or Reishi). So when taken regularly, the blood oxygen absorbed increases by 1.5 times. Also, more than 200 active elements are developed in Red Mushrooms. Very importantly containing an element called Polysaccharides (known as %26quot;master molecules%26quot; that correct body imbalances and a body cleanser).
