Losing Weight?

I%26#039;m about 5 9-5 10 at about 172 pounds. I started taking care of my body now and I was just wondering if what I was doing was right. I started doing cardio, I run on my treadmill/outside if it%26#039;s nice. I%26#039;ve lost about 10 pounds with just changing some eating habits, getting more exercise.

I want better results so I just baught these protein shakes cause I%26#039;ve noticed I dont seem to getting a good amount of protein in my diet, I started taking wheys protein shake. My friend suggested them, so I started taking two glasses of skim milk a day with a 1/3 of a cup of wheys. Also, I started taking these multi vitamin and mineral supplement pills with ginkgo and ginseng. I started taking them everyday. I began taking Arginine right before some of my harder work outs- and I get a good feeling from it.

I was just wondering if I should watch out for any side effects, I did some research and it looks clean for the most part. I started taking the pills and powders just about a couiple days ago.

Losing Weight?
People pay WAY too much attention to weight.

As another answer points out, muscle weighs more than fat, so you can gain weight, while losing fat.

Don%26#039;t just go by weight, and don%26#039;t set some sort of artificial number for what you want to weigh. Your weight depends on a lot of things such as your build and how much muscle you have -- it doesn%26#039;t necessarily mean you%26#039;re fat.
Reply:All these people are giving you the wrong advise! 162 pounds is an ideal weight for 5%26#039;10%26quot;. Stop buying into unrealistic stereo-types. Just continue to work-out and eat healthy and you will be fine. Remember mussle weighs more than fat so even if the weight doesn%26#039;t change you body still is...
Reply:I applaud you for your efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It looks like you are on the right track. I implore you to drink plenty of water. This will aid in protein synthesis and feed your muscles. Never mind the fact that plenty of water will keep you properly hydrated! For the protein shakes to do the most good for you, you should add weight training to your routine. Adding lean body mass (muscle) will increase your resting metabolic rate (burn calories even when you sleep!) and make you stronger. Good luck!
Reply:You seem to have it together. Everything looks good, except the herbs. I wouldn%26#039;t recommend taking any kind of herbs.

It’s been a hobby of mine to research health, nutrition, exercise; you will find anything you want to know from the following website.

Reply:that might be to realistic
Reply:Nope, I think you can do it. With the right dieting a exercising, the goal isnt too hard. And its actaully safe.... losing 10 pounds in 1 week is another story... ^_^ll
Reply:I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.

1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.

2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).

3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

A sight with some really cool diet calculators and interesting calorie counting calculators is here. Check it out.
