I really need help on some herbs in a "women in balance" supplement?

I had a baby almost 8 months ago, and ever since then my hormones have been really of out it, and earlier this month i bought some supplements from a place called %26quot;Herbal Healer%26quot;, called %26quot;Women in Balance%26quot;... Its all natural, and for all women of all ages.

Well, i started spotting about 13 dpo, and never started my period.Meanwhile, im still taking these supplements..Till last thursday, when i kinda suspected i *might* be pregnant.

Last friday, sunday and monday, i took 4 pregnancy tests and all came out dark positives.

Here is what%26#039;s in them..

Soy Isoflavones, Kava Kava, Wild Yam Extract, Licorice4:1 extract, Dong Quai powder, Red Raspberry powder, Black cohosh extract, chasteberry, ginger root powder, red clover and Ginkgo standardized extract.

Does anyone know if any of these would make a positive pregnancy test result? or am i really pregnant? i asked my naturopath dr, and she said they shouldnt, but stop taking them and test again next week... what do yall think? Thanks!

I really need help on some herbs in a %26quot;women in balance%26quot; supplement?
It sounds like you are pregnant, so you need to stop taking the formula.

Both blue and black cohosh aren%26#039;t to be taken during pregnancy, until you are ready to deliver. In the early pregnancy it can cause cramping and spotting, if continued miscarriage.

Many herbal formulas that balance the female hormones increase fertility, so the fertile cycle may be stronger (increased desire, etc.), longer (lasting 3-5 days or longer), and/or more frequent (sometime even twice in one month - very rare).

If your hormones are thrown out of balance, like in menopause, you can have a false positive.

If the body is stressed the adrenal glands can under produce DHEA, that the body makes into hormones, including estrogen and progesterone. Check out adrenals at adrenalfatigue.org

Good Luck, I hope you find it a Blessing!
Reply:These herbs will not cause false pregnancy readings. If you are still breastfeeding, you shouldn%26#039;t be taking this product anyways. If you have stopped breastfeeding, and it has been at least 4 weeks and you still haven%26#039;t had your period, then congratulations, you are pregnant. My boys are 14 months apart, and my two oldest girls are 18 months apart. With my girls, I found out I was 3 months pregnant, and I had spotting at first, then two regular periods.
Reply:Well, none of those should imitate pregnancy, none of those supplements would stop your period, pregnancy tests can sometimes give a false positive, and pregnant women could have some spotting in certain circumstances..... but if 4 say positive, then it%26#039;s less than a 1 in a million chance that you%26#039;re not. Congratulations!

BTW, if you%26#039;re worried about the spotting or if it happens again, you may want to check with your doctor.
